Day 2 Tuesday October 30

Note about Halloween:

This Wednesday is Halloween and I am excited to see the students in their costumes. Please remember that students are not allowed to have any scary face paint, wear a mask of any sort, or bring weapons to school. Please save these things for the evening when they go trick or treating.

Inquiry into Language:
Today students practiced writing a recount in letter format. As a class we read the book,
Students then pretended they were one of the characters Carson and they wrote a letter to Elsie telling her what they did on their way to come visit her.

Math:
Today we started our new unit of grids and maps. Students learned how to move up, down, left, and right. We completed pg.136 in our workbooks as a class. We said that when explaining how they are moving of the grid they need to write in complete sentences. Ex: Move 6 squares up, Move 4 squares right.

Inquiry into Migration:
Today students continued researching the country they chose to migrate to.

Library:
Today at the library students had time to exchange their books and read quietly.
