Language:
Today students wrote their spelling test.

Math:
Today students learned how to read patterns that have two changing attributes. Student's learned the 5 attributes we use when describing a pattern:
-size
-shape
-colour
-quantity
-position/direction

UOI: 
Today we had a discussion about famous structures and what materials we think were used to build them. Student's understand that in order to have a strong stable structure you need to have a good base. The class is eager for the chance to build their own structures.

We then took some time to clean our classroom.

Today students wrote their good copy of their favourite recipe.







Math:
Today students practiced identifying and continuing growing patterns. We did pg.180 as a class and students completed pg. 181 on their own.

UOI:
Today students reflected on their learning from term 2 for their report cards. Students were asked to write 2 things they enjoyed learning and 2 things they can improve on next term.

Language:
Today students learned how to write a recipe. We read through an example and then students created their plans. Tomorrow they will write their good copy.




Math:
Today students continued to practice identifying patterns. We specifically focussed on identifying patterns in tables.

Today students learned about different materials. We watched a short video about materials and what they could be used for.

Today students learned about our learner profile for this month Caring. As a class we read the definition that we have in our classroom. "I have a caring attitude towards people and the environment. I want to make a positive difference in the lives of other and I am sensitive to their needs.”

We then read, 

Lastly students completed their profiles for their IB binders.

Today students continued to work on identifying number patterns.

UOI into Structures:
Today we started our new unit of inquiry into Structures. Students watched a video as an introduction into how to build a bridge.

Day 2 Monday March 25

Language:
This week is review week. This means that students must choose 8 words to write paragraphs for on Friday. Today students worked on pg. 97-100 in their workbooks.








Math:
Today we started a new unit on number and geometry patterns. Students learned the definition of a pattern rule and we went through some examples together. We then completed pg. 176 in our workbooks.



Review:
Today students chose a piece of work they worked their hardest on, their best work, and something they need to improve on from our simple machines unit. Students then put them into their IB binders.
