Inquiry into Language:
Today students completed their first
Ontario Writing Assessment (OWA) they completed it to show me what they know
from previous years about writing a letter and recounting information. Over the
course of the term we will learn letter writing and how to recount different
events. At the end of the term we will re-write the same OWA for final
assessment marks. Students will write a letter to a friend who was away and
sick recounting the tings they missed during the school day.
Math :
During Math today we did many examples together on our classroom number line on how to skip count forward and backwards. We also did many example on how to describe the patterns we see.
The three ways we focussed on were:
Each time the numbers increase/ decrease by______________
The Ones digits increase/ decrease by _________________
The Tens digits increase/ Decrease by_____________
We did page 6 today in class step by step and talked through some of the questions on pg.7 but were unable to complete pg.7
UOI:
Today we got together with Ms. Smiths class
and watched some videos telling us what it means to be a good citizen, how to
be one, and about the things we should say.
After the videos we talked about ways we
can be a good citizen, kind things we can say to others and then all the Grade
2’s got a challenge! For the rest of the week we have to say something kind to
at least one person each day!
