Inquiry into Language:
Today students completed their spelling test.
Math:
Today students worked on ordinal numbers. Each students was given a card ranging from 70th to 88th and they had to put themselves in the correct order. Students showed great team work during this activity.
Then as a class we talked about what an ordinal number is and wrote down the definition of it in our own words for our math wall with a few examples. Students then went on to work on ordinal numbers using a 100's chart in their work books. During this time smaller groups would come and sit with me on the carpet when they needed help.
Inquiry into Citizenship:
Today we did an Art activity that will be marked for the students report cards and be used for Art's Night Display. Students learned about lines and contrast. We brainstormed different types of lines on the board and talked about light and dark colours. Students then went on to trace their hands and fill them with lines. One hand will be for light colours and the other for dark.
Next week we will complete the activity and do the written portion of it.
