Day 6 Thursday September 19

French:https://mmerawansja.blogspot.com/

Language:
Today students wrote a journal entry about a time when they had to make an important decision. Students reviewed proper paragraph writing. We talked about how you must have an opening statement, the body using sentence starters and your conclusion. We discussed how you need to have capitals and periods. We then brainstormed sentence starters we could use. (First, Then, Next, Lastly, Also)

Once we were done our brainstorm students were given the prompt One time I had to make an important decision about . . .  They were required to copy the sentence (opening sentence) fill in the blank and then give me the body and a conclusion.

Math:

Today we talked about numbers that are greater than and and less than. We used the crocodile mouth to help us decide which numbers are bigger. We learned today that the crocodile only likes to eat big juicy numbers because small numbers do not fill his tummy enough. We also worked on order numbers from greatest to least and least to greatest.

UOI:
Students were told yesterday they would have to make an important decision that would impact on the whole school. They were told that Mr. Sawatsky is the boss and he has made a decision to cancel the teaching of math at our school. We as the citizens of his community will need to vote on if we agree with his decision or if we think he should keep math.

Today we discussed voting who can vote, why we vote, and the history of voting.

We then reviewed our no and yes reasons from yesterday then as a class we voted on whether or not we should keep the math program at St. Jude's.
