Yesterday students were asked to imagine a day when all the simple machines ran away. What would they do? We brainstormed some questions to answer and some ideas about what happened and what we would do without the simple machines. Today students used their brainstorm to write a journal entry.

Students continued to learn about elapsed time. We learned that elapsed time is the amount of time it takes from the start of a task to the end. We used the clock to help us calculate the elapsed time.
1. We made the start time and put a dot in front of the minutes.
2.We then made the end time and put a dot in front of the minutes.
3. We then skipped counted by 5's from the first dot to the second to see how long the task took from start to finish. (if we needed to we drew the hops to help us keep track)
Students continued to build their Leprechaun traps.
