Language:
Today students wrote their spelling tests. We then took some time to work on our speeches.

Math:

Today students continued to work on addition and subtraction using front end estimation by rounding to the nearest 100.

Step 1 = round your first number
Step 2 =round your second number
Step 3 = add or subtract

*reminder 50 or higher round up, 49 or less stays the same

As a class we reviewed a few questions that students had trouble with this week. After talking them through as a class everyone seems to have a good understanding of front end estimation. 

 We also worked on some word problems. We underlined important information in the problems and explained some of the harder words like, sum and difference. We then set up our equation with the pieces we knew: _______+_______= 400.
The question asked us to find two different answers but we wanted to see if we could find them all.

Reflection:
Today students had time to practice presenting their speeches to their peers while I met with students to see how their speeches were coming along.

UOI into Cultures:
Today students worked on their good copies of their sketches. Students worked on drawing their sketches to fit the size of their page. Students also added in some light colour.
