Today students completed pg. 25-28 in their spelling workbooks.

*****This week is a review week so there are No new words for this week. Students are to choose any 5 words from the past six weeks to use in a paragraph for their spelling test on Friday.*****

Math:
Students learned how to take data from a chart and create a bar graph using this data. We talked about all the important components of a bar graph and what the vertical and horizontal axis is.

-Title for the vertical and horizontal axis.
-Scale that makes sense. Starts at 0 and goes up by 1,2,5, or 10.
- Categories
-Make sure to use a ruler.

 We also learned how to explain what we learned from the graph.

UOI:

Today we started our new unit. We will be looking at why people immigrate to different countries and different modes of transportation. Students talked with a partner about where their families are from and why they chose to come to Canada.

 Then some students shared their stories with the class.

 We then read this book as a class to help give the students an idea about they types of stories we will be talking about.

 Lastly students wrote down what they want to learn in this unit.
