Today we reviewed what push and pull factors are. We talked about how these sometimes make a person want to leave their country and goto another.

We then discussed a child named Malak she is a Syrian refugee. We talked about her story of what happened and how she had to leave her home suddenly. We listened to Malak's story:

Once the video was done we  created a brainstorm of Malak's journey and put it in order of how it happened.

Students were then asked to write a letter to UNICEF asking them to help Malak and her Mom. Students asked what UNICEF was I explained UNICEF is a program that helps needy children and promotes children's rights around the world. UNICEF is an acronym, for the program's original name United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund.
