Day 4 November 1, 2018

French:
Students dod not have french today because Mme Rawan was covering another class.  So we used this time to write our OWA's.
Inquiry into Language:
Today students wrote their OWA (Ontario Writing Assessment.) Students had to write a letter to a friend who was away sick. Students had to recount what they had learned so far at school. Students were told they could write about anything that has happened at school from September until now. As a class we briefly talked about some of thing we have done and learned. (Patterns on a 100's chart, graphing, letter writing, adjectives, verbs, nouns, Song Lee our novel study, Citizenship, Migration, house games, field trip, terry fox run,  Halloween.) Students were allowed to use their recount anchor chart and Letter Larry to help them. Students were also encouraged to look around the room at our other anchor charts to help trigger their memories.

Math:
Today students continued to learn how to move on a grid/map. We went outside for the first part of our lesson. Students used the squares on the playground to give their peers instructions on how to get to the other side. Students were reminded to tell their peers exactly how many squares they needed to move up, down, left, or right.

Students then practiced these skills on a worksheet.

Inquiry into Migration
Today students finished researching the country they chose to migrate to.

These are some of the things students made during recess today.
