French:
We attended an anti bullying presentation today. Student's watched a short video about bullying and learned about the different types of bullying. Students then created their own anti bullying day t-shirts.

Language:
Today students wrote their pre assessment for their next OWA, a persuasive advertisement. Students were asked to write an advertisement about a new candy that persuades the reader to buy the candy.

Math:
Today we went through some questions from the math review together. We reviewed parallel lines, hatch marks, nets, sorting prisms and pyramids by two attributes, and naming shapes.

UOI into Simple Machines:
Today students wrote their predictions and tested their vehicles on different surfaces of our inclined plane such as aluminum foil, sand paper, wax paper, and plain paper. We measured the distances travelled on each surface and recorded them in our chart.

Action

WHAT IS ACTION?

Many people think that Action is easy to define. It is something you do, right? But Action is much more than that. Action is a part of who we are. If we want to change the world we need to start with changing ourselves. But sometimes change is hard. How do we make changes to the way we think so we can help the world?

If we want children to make a difference in the world we need to help them personalize the action they take, and understand that it is not just a mandate from their teachers and parents, but a life long mindset they develop.

Taking action can happen at any age. It’s all about how we as parents, educators, and the community, support children and youth as they begin the learning journey towards becoming adults that are change agents!
