Day 3 Thursday December 5

Student-led conferences today please bring students with you. They will be facilitating the conference and have been working really hard preparing for them.

Our SJA Student Council is holding a clothing drive Friday, December 6. Please bring in gently used clothing that you no longer need. All donations will go to the Diabetes Association. Thank you in advance for your donations!!

UOI:
Today students finished reading their information about Kwanza, Hanukkah, or Christmas. Students then presented their information to the class. Sorry their are no pictures of them presenting Ms. Autio was here at the time.

They also complete a Kwanza and Hanukkah word search to help them learn about some of the important vocabulary that is used during these celebrations.

Language:
We used this time to finish getting our work together and students practiced leading their conference with a buddy.

Math:
We practiced adding double and triple digit numbers.

Gym:
Students played Pac Man tag.

Day 2 Wednesday December 4

Language:
Today students continued to prepare for their conferences. They made three goals for next term and explained how I can help them at school to achieve these goals and how you can help them at home. Students also chose three pieces of work to show you tomorrow.

Math:
Today students learned how to add two double digit numbers together.

Some students were challenged to take the skill they learned today and to add three digits by three digits.

Students took their research they did at home and made a fact sheet about their cultural flag.

Day 1 Tuesday December 3

Language:
Today students continued to prepare for the conferences on Thursday. Today students focussed on reflecting on their strengths and things they need to improve on.

Gym:
Ms. V was at the Dome again today. Ms. Hayward took the class to the gym and they played Mission Impossible.

Math:
Today students practiced their addition and subtraction. They were given a mathematical equation and asked to find the missing number.

UOI:
Students were split into three groups. Each group was given a celebration; Hanukkah, Kwanza, or Christmas. Students were asked to read the information given to them and highlight what they thought was important and put it on a piece of chart paper. Students were asked to answer Who, What, Where, When, and Why. Students will finish this later this week and share what they learned about their celebration with the class.

Day 6 Monday December 2

French: 
Today Mme. Rawan was sick so we used to this time to write our words in our agendas and completed our spelling workout books.

*We also went to the Dome today to practice for the Christmas Concert. 

Math:
Today students learned about related facts.

Student Conferences:
This year students will be in charge of leading the conferences. Today we started preparing by reflecting on our in class work habits and our social skills.
