Inquiry into Language:
Today students wrote their spelling test.
Math:
Today students continued to practice moving on a grid. Students worked on pg. 278-279 #1,2,3,5 in their textbooks. Students practiced explaining the steps taken to get from one place to another. Students worked on writing exactly how many squares they were moving and in what direction. (up, down, left, right) Students also learned how to describe how they knew where to go. Ex:"I know because I went backwards. I know because I did the opposite of what they said."
Inquiry into Migration
Today students discussed what push and pull factors were. We specifically looked at Environmental, political, Economical and Social factors. We watched a video to help us understand the push and pull factors of migration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nai-Rjg7QF4
We then read the scenarios out as a class and decided wether it was a push or pull factor.
Then we placed it into the Political, Social, Economical, or Environmental category.
We had to have a vote for some of them as some students thought they should be put into different categories.
