Students used this time today to work on their summative assignments.
Math:
Today we started our new number sense and numeration unit. Students were introduced to addition charts and how to use them. We also reviewed some quick addition patterns. For example, when you add, it does not matter what order you add the two digits. When adding zero and another number your answer will always be the other number. Finally when adding two of the same number (doubles)your sum (the answer) will always be an even number.
We spent some time doing examples as a class. We used our addition charts in our workbooks and tried to find all the pairs that have a sum of 16. We will continue working with our addition chart tomorrow.
